Vocational Education is Not Academic

January 15th, 2008 by admin

The very nature of vocational education ensures that it will not be very focused on abstract concepts like philosophy at, unless it was directly related to a career path. This means that generally speaking, schools that provide tertiary education are rarely centers for research, as is the case with most universities and many colleges. The function of  vocational education  is rarely to introduce new ideas but rather, to teach students tried and proven methods of going around specific kinds of tasks. This lack of academic focus makes it easier for vocational schools to teach only what is needed for a certain career.
