What is a Blood Pressure Cuff?

November 30th, 2007 by admin

The taking of blood pressure nowadays is automated, with the obsolete sphygmomanometers slowly become relics of the past. A Blood Pressure Cuff is often part of an automated device that takes blood pressure measurements without the need for a trained person to be in attendance. A Blood Pressure Cuff will contain sensors that will send feedback to a small computer or device. Diastolic, systolic, and mean blood pressure measurements are all automatically calculated and displayed. These machines have less of a chance of committing errors than humans and are often used outside of a hospital or doctor’s office to provide accurate BP readouts on demand.
