I Learned Something New - Load Balanced Systems

At work we have a about a dozen network servers. Recently one of our genius IT guys was talking about how nice it was to have load balanced systems for the clustered servers. I’m not new when it comes to computers, but I’ll admit I had never heard either term before. Naturally, when I asked our IT guru to explain it to me, he gave me a look like I was an idiot. At lease he was no so disgusted that he didn’t explain what they were. So my lesson for this week is: clustered servers are a group of servers combined together to behave as if they were one server and load balanced systems are there to distribute the load evenly between all of the servers. Now I wonder what my word of the day is…
