Alright, I’m sick of working at home. I’m going to go crazy if I stay boxed up here any longer. Time to get a wireless Internet laptop so I can work in cafes and actually be around other people.
Seriously, I can’t imagine why it took so long for Wireless Internet For Laptop Computers to become popular. Working from anywhere - what’s not to like? It’s like having a new office every day. So much nicer than the depressing cube I used to be stuck in.
Where to work tomorrow? Starbucks? The library? The park even? So many choices.
Alright - that’s all for now.

I really need a
wireless Internet notebook. One more day-long stint working in my lightless cell of an apartment might just send me over the edge. It would be much better to get out and work in a cafe or some other internet hotspot.

Imagine it - a web developer with a tan and a social life. Shocking.

My shiny new wireless Internet laptop arrived today. I spent a lovely afternoon working at my local Starbucks. Yeah yeah, cliche I know, but it was so nice to get out of the house. I was beginning to look like the belly of a fish after all these days spent in my dungeon of an apartment.
Laptop Wireless Connection must be the best invention ever. For me anyway. Anything that gets me out of the house is great, but one that lets me get my work done and be around people is truly life changing.
Imagine it - a web developer with a tan and a social life. Shocking.

With your homework done and the wireless network equipment in hand, the installation process can begin and wireless network installers can do their job. For brands like Belkin, you will receive an installation CD with your wireless router. Put this CD in the drive on the main computer for your home. Follow along as the on-screen instructions walk you through the steps. The CD is an important feature because it communicates with your computer’s operating system and with your Internet access source to verify compatibility. Without this assistance you could struggle for hours without realizing that the problem wasn’t a step you were missing, but a compatibility issue.
If your main computer is a desktop and it is fairly stationary, you may prefer the ease of connecting it through a traditional wired connection to the new wireless router. This means that the new router will be positioned near your desktop. If that is a central location in the home, this is a good option. For this setup you will use a wireless router that also functions as a modem. It takes the place of your older conventional modem and combines that function with a router to share the signal throughout the home. A central location is important because the standard router only covers an area of 100 to 200 feet. The signal will be stronger the closer the other devices are to the router. Other wireless devices, floors, ceilings and walls can all weaken the signal from the router to the wireless devices.

Once you have a broadband router installed you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it. Its main purpose is to allow more than one computer to share an Internet connection. This is fantastic news if you are one of the growing number households that have more than one computer in their home. Kids use computers for study as well as play now, and letting them share your Internet connection has never been easier thanks to the introduction of the broadband router. You will still only have to pay for one broadband subscription so your only expense will be the router itself.

With all the commotion in the media about identity theft, wireless network security threats are high on the agenda for anyone that has been surfing the net without making sure they are using a secure connection. It only takes a few precautions to lock down your machine and stop the exposure to the potential threats. It is much better to deal with this up front rather than having to resort to salvage and repair. If this happens, it could cost you a lot of time and money to rectify.
